BWH Legal can assist you in arranging your personal and financial affairs both today and for the future. We can advise you on any decisions you may need to make about financial matters for yourself or someone else and assist you in times of personal difficulty.
Making a Will or a Trust is your opportunity to ensure your assets pass to the people you wish to receive them. Get it right and you can reduce the amount of tax you might otherwise pay. It is also important to think about how setting up a Lasting Power of Attorney might help if you become unable to manage your affairs due to illness or infirmity.
Our Private Client Department, led by John Harrison, will help you plan for the now and for the future.

Having spent 11 years with Unilever plc as a Chartered Management Accountant, John decided to join a
university friend, Simon Barrett, who was senior partner of a firm of solicitors in Reading. John’s
initial role was practice manager and financial controller of the firm. Based on this experience
John also advised other legal firms on a consultancy basis with regard to their financial control
systems. John quickly established a close relationship with a computer software company dealing with
legal systems and assisted in the development of a bespoke case management system for residential
conveyancing, which was then marketed to other firms, and Will writing software.
John
gradually became more involved with the legal side of the work, particularly in company and
partnership matters where his accounting background was useful. He decided to embark on a distance
learning course to qualify as a solicitor and was admitted in 2001 following which he became a
partner of the Reading firm dealing with company, commercial, property related work, both
residential and commercial, wills and probate. He was also the partner in charge of finance and
information technology.
Having recently retired as a partner in the Reading firm of
solicitors, John decided to join his two former colleagues to establish BWH Legal. As well as being
an experienced conveyancer, he will be providing advice to clients on wills and probate
matters.
